The Department of Commerce conducted a formal ceremony on 10 November 2025 to honour Prof. (Dr.) Gabriel Simon Thattil on his elected as the National President of the Indian Accounting Association (IAA). A distinguished academician with nearly three decades of service to the University, Prof. Thattil has held several key positions including Director of IQAC, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, and Professor & Head of the Department of Commerce. The event began with a Welcome Address by Prof. (Dr.) Biju T., followed by the Presidential Address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) S. Kevin. The honouring was carried out by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Bhayani, Dean and Professor, Department of Business Management, Saurashtra University, Gujarat, and the Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Manjit Singh, Professor, School of Applied Management, Punjabi University, Patiala. Felicitations were extended by Prof. (Dr.) S. Resia Beegam and Prof. (Dr.) G. Raju. The programme brought together faculty, researchers, and students to celebrate this notable achievement.
