Dr. S Resia Beegam has been a Senior Professor at the Department of Commerce, University of Kerala, since March 2006. In addition to her academic role, she is the Director and Member of the PG Board of Studies in Management at the University of Kerala, a Member of the PG Board of Studies in Management at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and a Member of the PG Board of Studies in Commerce at Calicut University. She also actively participates as a Peer Team Member of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

She earned her M.Com in Financial Management in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Commerce in 1994, titled “Problems and Prospects of Women Entrepreneurs in Kerala,” both from the University of Kerala. She later obtained an MBA with first-class honours from Annamalai University in 2010. She began her teaching career as an ad-hoc lecturer at Jawaharlal Nehru College, Kawarathi, in Lakshadweep, before joining the University of Kerala as a Lecturer in 1988, promoted to Reader in 1998 and Professor in 2006.

Dr. S Resia Beegam has 30 years of teaching experience at the postgraduate level. She has successfully supervised sixteen Ph.D. scholars and guided 80 M.Phil. scholars. Her academic contributions include co-authoring three books and publishing 67 research articles. She has played an instrumental role as a Trainer Associate for the UGC’s Capacity Building for Women Managers in Higher Education initiative, facilitated by the National Consultative Committee. Additionally, she coordinated Sensitivity-Awareness-Motivation (SAM) workshops and Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops under the UGC scheme to build capacity for women managers in higher education in Kerala and Karnataka. These workshops, organized at the University of Kerala, were the first in Kerala.
