Dr.R.Vasanthagopal, Professor of Commerce and Director in the School of Distance Education teaches in the area of finance and accounting. His primary research interests are in finance, human resource management, and tourism.
Prior to joining University of Kerala in the year 2013 as Professor, he worked with The Cochin College, Kochi (a government aided college under Mahatma Gandhi, Kottayam) as Lecturer (1996-2005), Reader (2005-2008) and Associate Professor (2008-2013). He has been associating as the Senior Member of APCBEES (Hong Kong), IACSIT (Singapore) and IEDRC (Hong Kong). As a research guide of University of Kerala (Commerce and Management), 24 scholars have completed PhD under him. He has published nine books on Commerce and Management and contributed more than 60 research papers in peer-reviewed national and International journals. He serves as a member in the Academic Council of University of Kerala. He also serves as a member in the Board of Studies of University of Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Sacred Heart College(Autonomous), Ernakulam, Maharajas College (Autonomous) Ernakulam, and member in the TSG of RUSA, Kerala SPD. He also serves on the editorial boards of more than 10 practitioner-oriented and academic journals and also serves as a reviewer of more than 10 journals published from India and abroad. He has participated in a number of conferences/seminars and workshops and presented papers in more than 50 national and International conferences/seminars. He has completed three projects of UGC and one project of ICSSR.
