Dr Gabriel Simon ThattilSenior Professor

Senior Professor in Commerce since Feb 2010. Was Awarded M.Com from M.G University with first class and first rank from Sacred Heart College in 1988, M Phil with A grade and first rank from  University of Kerala, PhD from the Department of Commerce and Management Studies of the University of Calicut, PGDHRM from IGNOU and MBA with first class from Annamalai University.

Biography

He has over 28 years of teaching and research experience- teaching at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels for M.Com, MBA, MPhil and other PG Diplomas and guiding M.Phil and doctoral work. Has successfully guided 25 PhDs and 49 M.Phils. Is the author of 3 books and has published 48 research articles. Was the coordinator of a major research project of the Govt. of India undertaken by the Department, was the coordinator of the UGC SAP project approved by the UGC for the Department. 

He is the former General Secretary of Indian Accounting Association and current Chief Editor, Indian Journal of Accounting, Life member of the Indian Commerce Association, Professional member of the National Institute of Personnel Management and All India Management Association (MIMA status). Governing  Board Member of Centre for Development Studies. Currently the Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, University of Kerala. Member Advisory Board on Kerala Institutional Ranking Frame Work of Kerala State Higher Education Council and State Quality Assurance Cell member.

Education

• MBA with first class from Annamalai University in 2009 with specialization in Financial Management. 
• PhD in the Faculty of Commerce from the University of Calicut in 1996. Thesis titled, “A study on the state-of-the-art of Human Resources Management in the industrial sector of Kerala”. 
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management (PGDHRM) from IGNOU. 
• M.Phil degree with A grade from the University of Kerala in 1991 with specialization in Financial Management. 
• Qualified in the National Eligibility Test of UGC for JRF and lectureship in 1991, awarded JRF 
• B.Com degree with first class from Mahatma Gandhi University in 1986 with specialization in Costing and Finance. 
• M.Com degree with first class from Mahatma Gandhi University in 1988 with specialization in Finance. 
• Pre-degree examination in Commerce group from the University of Kerala in 1983 with first class.
